This channel’s purpose is to provide high-quality walkthroughs, playthroughs, or guides of any video game that I enjoy. The focus will always be the Sonic the Hedgehog series, but occasionally, other games will make an appearance. I record all content myself and as of 2020, exclusively output in 4K with certain videos being in HDR. I specialize in long-form or marathon content with various videos of several hours in length. I haven’t played Black Knight on Dolphin since I installed Windows 10. Dolphin keeps a shader cache. Certain games might lag your first time through as Dolphin builds that cache. I played Black Knight for that purpose since I use Dolphin for practice. I don’t know why I recorded it, but oh well. At least it’s something. I did the same for Secret Rings, so…

Any once of care I had went out of the window on the The Cauldron when I died due to the invisible wall. It’s a thing on console too if you try to cross the lava pit that way, but you don’t time it correctly. Not an emulator glitch or anything. Dolphin is actually fairly accurate with this game.

I need an estimated four more days before anything important is ready. Expect random stuff. ^.^

EDIT: The music in the opening area has been flagged as licensed to “The Diner (on behalf of The Diner Music); The Diner Publishing”. The license has a date of 2011 yet this game came out in 2004?

Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II returns to consoles and PC with another perfunctory remaster. Make no mistake, I’m thrilled this release means I can rekindle some nostalgic moments – even in couch-coop – without having to dig out old hardware or deal with an emulator and ROMs. That said, I still think the pricing is too high to attract curious gamers who’ve only heard about the IP from those with a nostalgic hook.

Here’s a first look at the opening 15-minutes on an Xbox Series S, demonstrating the basic gameplay loop and somewhat effective upscaling used to get it looking a little prettier on modern displays. Of course, Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is still an 18-year-old game but it was a big improvement over its predecessor, shifting closer to a Diablo-esque ARPG with more classes, monster types, gear, skills, and diverse environments (and a less crushing default difficulty).

Now, I just hope someone can figure out who owns the rights to the Champions of Norrath games so they can receive the same treatment.

OVERVIEW
The Master System is a third-generation 8-bit home video game console manufactured by Sega. It was originally a remodeled export version of the Sega Mark III, the third iteration of the SG-1000 series of consoles, which was released in Japan in 1985 and featured enhanced graphical capabilities over its predecessors. The Master System launched in North America in 1986, followed by Europe in 1987, and Brazil in 1989. A Japanese version of the Master System was also launched in 1987, which features a few enhancements over the export models (and by proxy the original Mark III): a built-in FM audio chip, a rapid-fire switch, and a dedicated port for the 3D glasses. The Master System II, a cheaper model, was released in 1990 in North America, Australasia and Europe.

The original Master System models use both cartridges and a credit card-sized format known as Sega Cards. Accessories for the consoles include a light gun and 3D glasses that work with a range of specially designed games. The later Master System II redesign removed the card slot, turning it into a strictly cartridge-only system and is incompatible with the 3D glasses.

The Master System was released in competition with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Its library is smaller and with fewer well-reviewed games than the NES, due in part to Nintendo licensing policies requiring platform exclusivity. Though the Master System had newer, improved hardware, it failed to overturn Nintendo’s significant market share advantage in Japan and North America. However, it attained significantly greater success in other markets including Europe, Brazil, South Korea and Australia.

In an interview with Windowscentral.com two head developers from diablo 2 resurrected Studio Design Director Rob Gallerani and Project Lead Michael Bukowski mentioned that new diablo 2 resurrected content isn’t being ruled out. The developers said and I quote

“We wanted to build a really strong foundation before we started talking about the third and fourth floors on this building. If we mis stepped on what the core game was, anything else we were doing would have been kind of meaningless. […] We definitely have lots of ideas, but right now we’re waiting to make sure that we get the core game right. […] We’ll have to see once the game goes live what we do about new runewords, new items, rebalancing, things like that.”

This is INCREDIBLE news because new additions and fresh content always breathes new life into the game. Just hearing the developer say NEW RUNEWORDS, NEW ITEMS, and REBALANCING can all be amazing things. Especially since we’ve seen things like patch 1.1 which brought so much it could be considered an expansion pack, we could potentially see more like that in the future.

To some people who are purists and don’t want ANY CHANGES #NOCHANGES at all, and after being part of the world of warcraft classic experience we all know how that went “smiley winkey face”
BUT Speaking of changes the developers also mentioned that when it comes to BOTS and DUPES some things have changed. The team while certainly committed to keeping the game as similar as possible, they did also implement extra analytics to monitor the diablo 2 resurrected economy in real time. What this means potentially is Blizzard or Vicarious Visions will likely be keeping a watchful eye on botting and duping and perhaps will lay down the law if they see some shenanigans. But that of course is just my own speculation.

However, in the interview there were “small tweaks” mentioned that Gallerani expects will keep the in-game online economy much more measured and prevent people from massively exploiting duping items, such as stones of Jordan or SOJs which were SO HEAVILY DUPES in the past because of its use as a currency. He mentions that these new systems are not flawless but instead that they will assist against some of these issues much better than in the past.
